We've seen the promotion of Forever Wars including the ever expanding "Global War Of Terror", Cold War Two against emerging global capitalist power China, the Exxon-Mobile Chevron fossil-fuel profits' proxy war in Ukraine triggered by the Biden Regime's intransigence in 2021-22, the Genocide in Palestine enabled, financed and armed by the "United" States, even MORE climate damage under Biden than under Trump, and ever more economic desperation for the Working Class and the poor with massive inflation at the pump and in the grocery store.

And on the social front the Republican states have used the Dobbs decision to further limit Women's Health Care Rights while the Democrats have used/enabled their friends in Big Tech to attack Free Speech Rights.

And with Trump's re-selection and appointment of more Planet Arsonists, elitist plutocrats, war mongers and Genocide supporters, we're in for even more of the same.

These are merely the LEGALLY Reported lobbying expenses (OpenSecrets). Huge sums of Dark money and under the table campaign bribes are also used to boost Congressional and other politician's campaigns to influence legislation and policies.

Note: Other than being a component of "Manufacturing", the war industry doesn't have to compete with the above much since most Congresscritters are already on board with the Forever War.
